Back of the photo: Three drafts of a packing list, one triumphant grocery run, and a to-do item that just said “red dress” — that was the prep. Then four days in the San Simon desert with the Arizona burners: dust mask by day, neon by night, wristbands stacking up on the arm, and a camp where strangers stop being strangers by the second morning. Someone hung a poster that said INVISIBLE BUT NOT ALONE, and honestly, that about covers it. The saguaro burned on Saturday and the whole desert glowed.
